Jackalopes Begin Road Trip with League Leading Lone Star Brahmas

Feb 15, 2024

The Odessa Jackalopes begin their six-game road trip this weekend by visiting the league-leading Lone Star Brahmas in North Richland Hills.

The Jacks played their most important series last weekend against the team right above them in the standings, the New Mexico Ice Wolves. While they were close games for the most part, the Jacks emerged with just two points on the weekend as they won on Friday Night. Friday was also a game being played for charity, as the Jackalopes won $5,000 for the Boys and Girls Club of the Permian Basin.

With the Jacks securing just two points on the weekend, the Ice Wolves were able to jump the Oklahoma Warriors in the process as the Ice Wolves sit in 5th place with 52 points, the Warriors in 6th with 49 points, and the Jacks in 7th with 40 points.

It’s a tall task for the Jackalopes this weekend as they travel to North Richland Hills to take on the Lone Star Brahmas. So far the Jacks are 0-3-1 against Lone Star and 0-2-0 on the road. With fifteen games remaining in the regular season and nine points separating the Jacks and the Warriors, points in every game is of the highest importance.

Looking at Lone Star’s recent games, they are 8-1-1 in their last ten fixtures and have won six straight games. Last weekend they successfully swept the Oklahoma Warriors in Oklahoma City. Saturday night was a demolition of the Warriors as the Brahmas emerged victorious 9-2. The Brahmas scored five of those nine goals in the 3rd period, in a span of 12:02.

The schedule for this weekend’s games is as follows:

Friday, February 15th, @ Lone Star Brahmas, 7:30 P.M.

Saturday, February 16th @ Lone Star Brahmas, 7:30 P.M.

These games will be streamed on the North American Hockey League’s streaming service NAHLTV.
