Jacks Back on Home Ice to Start Eight-Game Homestand

Jan 24, 2024

The Odessa Jackalopes start a pivotal homestand this weekend against the Oklahoma Warriors and El Paso Rhinos.

The Jacks just finished up an eight-game road trip beginning in the previous calendar year. The Jacks went 2-6-0 on the road trip with both of their wins coming in Shreveport, Louisiana. Odessa currently sits in the 7th position in the South division standings, nine points behind the 6th place Oklahoma Warriors. Last weekend the Jacks were in Oklahoma where they fell in both games to the Warriors by finals of 5-2 and 5-1. This weekend Odessa looks to get back in the win column with six possible points up for grabs.

The Jacks have not beaten the Warriors, since the move to Oklahoma. They are 0-10-0 and the last win for the Jacks against the Warriors was when the team was in Wichita Falls, March 19th, 2022, a 6-2 victory at the Ector County Coliseum

While the Jackalopes are familiar with the Warriors, facing them just last week, they will face an opponent on Sunday that they haven’t seen since December 1st. The El Paso Rhinos come back to the JackShack to make up the postponed game from December 2nd from when the ice was unsafe to play. The El Paso Rhinos are 9-0-1 in their last 10 games. They will also be playing a three-in-three this weekend as they host the Shreveport MudBugs, Friday and Saturday night.

Taking a look at the remaining schedule for the Odessa Jackalopes. The Jacks will be home for the next three weekends, playing eight games at home. They will then go on the road for six games, before returning to the JackShack for the final homestand of the season which totals seven games. They will once again take the road for the final weekend of the season for two games in Corpus Christi.

With fifteen of the last twenty-three games being here at the JackShack, the home ice advantage will definitely be in play.

The schedule for this weekend’s games are as follows:

Friday, January 26th, vs. Oklahoma Warriors @ 7:15 P.M.

Saturday, January 27th, vs. Oklahoma Warriors @ 7:15 P.M.

Sunday, January 28th, vs. El Paso Rhinos @ 7:15 P.M.

These games will be streamed on NAHLTV and a free audio only version will be available on the Odessa Jackalopes YouTube Page with the voice of the Jacks, Brandon Luisi.
