Jacks Goalie Quentin Sigurdson Commits to Northeastern University

Nov 13, 2023

The Jackalopes are very proud to announce that goalie Quentin Sigurdson has committed to Northeastern University (NCAA D1). “We’re excited for Quentin to further his playing career at Northeastern. Northeastern is getting a goalie that continues to develop and continues to get better year after year,” said Scott Deur, the Head Coach of the Odessa Jackalopes.

This is Sigurdson’s 2nd season with the Jacks. Last season Sigurdson played in 15 games going 5-5-0 with a 2.87 GAA and a .909 SV%. While this season he is 6-5-0 with an impressive 2.08 GAA and a .935 SV%. Sigurdson mentioned what he thinks is the key to his success and improvement throughout the off-season. “The key to my growth this off-season was consistently putting in hard work and practicing with a purpose”

This off-season Sigurdson put in a lot of time and effort with Jacks Goalie Coach Colin Grubb. “I’m super excited for Q to commit to Northeastern and head to HockeyEast, following in a guy called Hellebuyck’s footsteps. He’s such a great person, his mechanics are some of the best I’ve seen and he’s had to be patient but it’s paying off this season as he’s giving us a chance every night.”

Northeastern University plays NCAA D1 hockey in the Hockey East conference, one of the most competitive conferences in the nation, with schools like UNH, Boston University, UMass Lowell, and Merrimack among others.

The Jacks next contests are this weekend on the road against the Shreveport Mudbugs, you can catch all the games on NAHLTV and YouTube.
