Jacks Look to Bounce Back After Weekend in El Paso

Oct 12, 2023

The Odessa Jackalopes (3-6-1) are set to take on the Amarillo Wranglers (4-4-0) this weekend following the two losses they suffered last weekend to the El Paso Rhinos.

Game one saw a near miraculous comeback from this Jacks team. They were down 5-1 with 19:30 remaining in the 3rd period, scored three unanswered goals, but came up short as they were unable to find the equalizer. Game two was a defensive battle as the first goal of the game and the only goal came in the last minute of the 2nd period as the Rhinos took that one 1-0. Former Jacks goaltender Kael DePape, who was traded to the Rhinos Friday afternoon, got his first win of the season and shutout in Saturday’s contest.

The Amarillo Wranglers enter this weekend’s contests on a three game losing streak. Last weekend they were swept by the Lone Star Brahmas, while the weekend before they split the weekend series with the Corpus Christi IceRays. Over last weekend’s games the Wranglers were only able to light the lamp three times, twice on friday and once on saturday. With the Wranglers being just one point above the Jacks in the standings, getting four points out of this weekend is going to be extremely important.

This weekend’s games will take place Friday, October 13th, at 7:15 P.M. CDT and Saturday, October 14th, at 7:15 P.M. CDT. These games will be available on NAHLTV (Amarillo feed only).

Reminder Jacks fans single game tickets are on sale and season ticket packages are still available. You can find them online or call 432-552-7825 and Tania can help you out.
