The Odessa Jackalopes, following a split weekend with the Colorado Grit, hit the road once again to take on the 5th place Shreveport MudBugs this Friday and Saturday.
The Jacks were shutout by the Grit on Friday night for the 2nd straight game. Grit goaltender Jack Erickson backstopped the Grit to a 41 save shutout. Saturday night was a completely different story as the Jacks blew out the Grit 6-1, fueled by a 5 goal 2nd period. Out of those 6 goals, 2 were short handed, 2 were on the power play, and 2 were 5 on 5. The Jacks split the weekend and season series with Colorado with that win. Jacks goaltender Quentin Sigurdson, who recently committed to Northeastern University for next season, allowed only two goals against this weekend, while facing 70+ shots on net.
As for the MudBugs, they are 6-4-0 in their last 10 games, sitting at a 11-6-1 record (23 pts) in the standings. The Jacks have not faced them yet this season, so this will be a unique test for the Jacks. The MudBugs are coming off of a weekend where they haven’t played any games. Therefore the Jacks need to take advantage of having games last weekend and being in game shape.
The games this weekend are on Friday, November 17th, at 7:11 P.M and Saturday, November, 18th also at 7:11 P.M. These games will be streamed on NAHLTV with an audio only version on YouTube.
